My bookkeeper noticed one day when entering in a customer bill that the order of the columns had changed under the Items tab. It used to have the CUSTOMER:JOB before the CLASS when entering the bill. Now they are reversed (see attached). We have multiple companies we run through Quickbooks and it is only this way on one of the companies - and only on the bill entry screen (credit card entry did not change). How do we change it back to the original order of entry?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Right click on the Bill table and choose Customize Columns.
Then change the column order and even the columns that appear to suit.
I appreciate you sharing the screenshot, pkelly22.

Thank you. I'm not seeing that option when I right-click. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or maybe it's in a different version? I have QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022.

Thank you so much! I ran the Data as you outlined. I actually had to run the Rebuild Data twice as it fixed some of the errors the first time, but not all of them. When I ran it the second time, it fixed all errors and now the columns on the Enter Bill screen are back to how they originally were. I appreciate your help very much!
Thanks for following up with the Community, pkelly22.

I also began experiencing this issue a few days ago. I verified data twice and did rebuild data several times until all errors were resolved.
Problem still exists for me :(
Any other suggestions?
I am running Quickbooks Desktop: Premier Plus Contractors Edition 2022 with latest updates.
Appreciate the time you've taken in sharing the results of your troubleshooting, @ScottTherrell.

@pkelly22 RE: I'm not seeing that as an option when I right-click. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or perhaps I have a different version that doesn't have this option? I am using QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022.
I checked Premier 2022 and Enterprise 22.0 and only Enterprise seems to have the feature to customize columns. I don't have Pro, but if Premier doesn't have it then Pro won't either.
I tried both suggestions. Neither worked.
It seems that only Enterprise has the feature, so if you don't have Enterprise, no amount of repairing or reinstalling will change anything.
So after I said it worked for me, I went back and realized it had not worked. It was correct under the 'Expenses' tab, but not the 'Items' tab. It makes no sense that there is not a way to fix this, when it was not originally like this. We just logged in one day and it had changed order.
That's exactly what happened to me. When I did my my backup on Thursday, everything was normal. When I opened my company file on Friday morning, I immediately noticed the change when I began entering bills from my suppliers.
Well, something changed it between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. The question is how do I change it back.
Hi pkelly22 and ScottTherrell,
I've tried checking this on my end and see no changes in the bill columns. The Customer:JOB appears before the Class column, as shown in the screenshot below.
Since it happened suddenly and you have been dealing with it for a couple of days and weeks, I'd advise contacting our Support Team if you've tried all the suggestions shared above. Our Team will investigate this matter and help us change it back to the old arrangement of the columns.
Here's how to contact them:

I never was able to resolve the problem.
I just restored from my last good backup and reentered the missing transactions. It was only 3 days worth of transactions and took just a few hours.
