Hello,
I am having trouble finding out of what I'm looking to do is possible in Quickbooks Desktop (Premier 2020) either natively or via a third party. For any third party replies, please give specifics as to how your program can meet this objective.
Is it possible to bulk import (via Excel/CSV/etc) multiple jobs for multiple existing customers in our Quickbooks company file?
Here's an example customer hierarchy we work with in Quickbooks - these represent existing customers and existing jobs:
Customer A
--Job A1
--Job A2
Customer B
--Job B1
--Job B2
--Job B3
Is it possible to import the following information in BOLD:
Customer A
--Job A1
--Job A2
--Job A3
--Job A4
Customer B
--Job B1
--Job B2
--Job B3
--Job B4
The goal is to import pertinent job information into the existing hierarchy of an existing customer in our company file. In this case the Job Information would be:
* I would presume the pre-filled existing customer information that already resides in Quickbooks would remain the default information on the "Address Info" page of the new job *
1) Job name
2) Job Description (ideally this would simply be a Purchase Order number)
3) Job Type
4) Job Status
5) Start Date
6) Projected End Date
I have not found a way to do this or a clear explanation to learn if this is possible.
Any information or guidance is greatly appreciated.
This process is a serious bottleneck for our company as we grow and are currently exploring other programs that may be better suited than Quickbooks to handle this process. If Quickbooks is able to accomplish this, we may be able to buy another couple years before migrating to another platform.
Thank you

Yes, you can use our BRC List Importer to import new jobs for existing customers. They can be entered on an Excel worksheet and then the tool will turn it into an IIF file for import.
You can import them with the fields you note and many more.
The format would look something like this, given your examples:

Glad to see you here in the Community, @P-Source.
Currently, importing multiple jobs for multiple existing customers is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). You can also refer to @BigRedConsulting suggestions.
Rest assured, our engineering team is aware of this and is working on adding this in the future update. In the meantime, you can consider looking for a third-party app that has the feature you need for your business. You can visit our QuickBooks App Store and look for an app that integrates with QBDT.

Thank you for the replies. The Excel example you provided looks to be a very good fit for what we're trying to accomplish in the near term. I will explore this further and be in touch directly regarding this option.
