How to consolidate multiple orders through the month into one monthly invoice for that customer?

Good to see your post here, Provance.

You can use the Recurring Invoice feature to consolidate multiple orders for your customer and set them to recur every month. I'll show you how to do it below:

  1. Go to the + New icon.
  2. Under Customers, select Invoice.
  3. Fill out the form with the information you want to appear in every instance of the invoice.
  4. Under Payment Options, choose the types of payments that you accept.
  5. Select Make recurring.
  6. Customize the recurring invoice by entering the template name, from the Type drop-down, choose Schedule
  7. Click Save template.

Read through this article and find out more about creating a recurring invoice: How to create a recurring invoice and manage recurring transactions.

How to consolidate multiple orders through the month into one monthly invoice for that customer?

Hi,

Thanks for this but I can't see how this is going to work?? This amount will be different every month, it's not like we're billing them the same each month.

Scenario:

Customer A places multiple orders throughout the month through the website. The website creates an invoice in QB for that particular order. At the end of the month, the customer gets billed for ALL transactions on one invoice which is then sent to them.

The point is the customer doesn't want multiple invoices through the month but rather one invoice at the end of the month.

I'm not sure your solution is going to do that? Unless I'm missing something?

How to consolidate multiple orders through the month into one monthly invoice for that customer?

Hello there, @\Provance.

Currently, we're unable to combine multiple invoices into one. As a workaround, you can create multiple estimates. Then, you can add those estimates into one invoice and send it to your customer. This will allow them to pay the products and services being accumulated within the month in one go. I'd be glad to show you how to do that.

  1. Create estimate transactions.
  2. Navigate to the + New button, select Invoices.
  3. Enter the Customer's name, then click Add on the Estimates located at the right pane. I've added a screenshot for additional reference.

  4. Choose the option on how you want your customer to pay you at the Online Payments section.
  5. Verify the transactions, then select Save and send.

After sending, this is how your emailed invoice will look like.

Creation of estimates will not work for these customers.  The estimates will not add to daily sales.

Combining daily sales into one monthly invoice is a great functionality, DONNA.

As of now, there isn't an integrated way to consolidate multiple invoices in one sales transaction. As a workaround, we'll have to enter them in QuickBooks individually. This way, you can easily link the payments when your clients pay

I can see how this functionality would be beneficial to your business. I encourage sending a feature request directly to our Product Development team. Your feedback helps shape the future of QuickBooks Online and ensures that it remains a valuable and effective tool for businesses.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.

  3. Once done, click on Next.
