Buy nowHi Folks,
How do I contact California Technical Support, when off-shore doesn't understand the problem?
The problem is, "Windows Off-line Synchronization of files, for the case of traveling notebooks, defeats QuickBooks, whether I'm connected to the network or not.".
So, by way of explanation, notebooks are not always connected to their "home" network, obviously, and the users need to be able to handle the accounting, obviously, even so. Enter "Off-line Files" from Microsoft, where your computer doesn't care that you are not connected to your "home" network, but will cache copies of your off-line files locally and synchronize your profile folders each time you touch base. Sounds like the perfect solution, except that Quickbooks will not open a company file that is off-line synchronized.
I have been through the technical support organization, and they simply don't listen to that very clear statement of the problem. Off-line Synchronization ==> QuickBooks failure.
This is a design/engineering problem and I can't be the first person to have encountered it. Has anybody else used "Off-line Synchronization" (mobsync.exe)? Does it work for you? Is there anything in the QuickBooks license that says "Off-Line Synchronization" is not supported?
Thanks for the help,
Chris.
Good to see you here in the Community, @cjm51213-2.
I want to ensure this is taken care of, but before I do, may I know if you're using Intuit Data Protect (IDP), Right network, or any cloud hosting device? Any information can help us resolve the issue.

I am not familiar with your term of "offline/online sync" on QBD. The important question is how do the remote user access your company file on the host computer at the moment? Did you setup a certain solution to do so?
RE: How do I contact California Technical Support...?
You can't. Intuit hasn't had support in California for almost two decades. It's all overseas now, I think.
