How to get rid of PPP banner on home page

I appreciate the efforts you exerted to turn off the Seasonal Hiring Banner pop-up message, @finefinishesofpi.

Allow me to share some details about how advertisement, like Seasonal Hiring Banner, works in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

The marketing ads pop-up message is designed to promote helpful features that you can use in QBDT. However, we're unable to turn them off as of this time.

I understand how disturbing it can be when an advertisement suddenly pops up upon working in the program. In the meantime, you can consider clicking the button to close the advertisement pop-up.

You can also visit our blog site so you'll be able to get the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Care Team is working on.

Please continue to reach me here in the Community if you need more assistance with QuickBooks Desktop. I'll be sure to get back to you.

How to get rid of PPP banner on home page

You can close it when you open the home page, but it'll just come back.

After reading these posts, I thought I'd check it out, and I clicked the link.

Hilariously, it doesn't even work! Instead of discovering "seasonal hiring tips", it sent me to a help topic titled "Understanding payment categories for the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC", with a sub-topic "What's new for tax year 2020?".  This is old, stale news and was probably written in 2019 before the new 1099 NEC came out.  How lame is that?

So, the banner is: 1) Irritating, 2) Irrelevant for most customers, who either don't have a payroll, don't have seasonal employees, or do and so have figured out what to do, and 3) Doesn't even work!

That's classic, Intuit.

Your reply was not helpful at all. It was actually a waste of my time reading the nonsense.

The "Seasonal Hiring Tips" banner needs to be removed!!!!!!!  It is beyond irritating!!!!!!!!!

Now I can't resize the window without with this banner popping up?  I the window is too narrow, the "x" isn't visible, so essentially, you can't narrow the window without getting the banner.  Spent time on the phone yesterday with QB support, and got now where.  They wouldn't even acknowledge people are sick of this.  Now I essentially CAN'T GET RID OF IT AT ALL.

20 year customer looking to change software.  Intuit has gradually gotten worse and worse at taking advantage of paying customers to advertise things we DON'T NEED.  And as someone else pointed out, it's not ever linked to the info it says it is!

Lastly, if it takes a bit to load, nothing works!  It just locks up and waits to load it's useless "important feature information".

That solution does not work, and after paying 6 to 8 hundred dollars per seat for QB Desktop Premier for Manufacturing and Wholesale for 14 years now, we are ready to switch. Had enough! We made the suggestion for the ability to hide your bank balance in the check writing screen years ago, and nothing ever came of it. In small businesses vendors and service personnel sometimes end up behind your desk when there to get paid, and our current balance is none of their business. Many of these people are friend's and we are not going to discourage them from positioning to shake our hands or look at something unrelated in our offices. A "hide account balance on check writing screen" BOX in preferences seems like a pretty simple thing to do.
