How to turn off annoying ad banners?

QuickBooks use in-product pop-ups and ads to help optimize your QuickBooks experience by suggesting new features and program updates. 

In the meantime, you can simply turn it off by following the steps below:

1. Go to the Edit menu then Preferences.
2. Under General, look for Turn off pop-up messages for products and services.
3. Remove the check mark beside it then click OK.
   

You can also remove the the check mark for What's New, under the Help menu. See this:

I am not able X it out unless I maximize the screen but I usually have Quickbooks only half of the screen.  When I maximize the screen I can hit the X to get rid of it, but then when I put QBooks back to half my screen, the advertisement pops back up again and no X is visible.  So I have to just leave it there when I am working half-screen.     

I tried it both ways - removing the check mark and keeping the check mark.  I closed and reopened Quickbooks and I even rebooted the computer.   I have the What's New box unchecked.   It's still there and I cannot get rid of it and even when I x out of it, it reappears every time I go back to the home screen which is often.

Any other ideas?

I sent Feedback multiple times and it's still there.    This is still in the way.   Perhaps if more people complain about it, QB will get rid of it.  

X out of it on the Home Screen, go to Pay Bill.   It's back again.   Seasonal Hiring is not anything that we are interested in.
