QBO Support,
I am trying update a Service item Income Account for historical transactions, but I do not want to change the historical transactions prior to the close date. Changing the account, and checking the box for historical transactions is easy enough. Leaving the transactions untouched prior to the close date is the hard part.
I have been told by customer support that transactions prior to a close date will not be effected, but that seems to not be the case. Is there another setting that I need to check, or is there an overnight system update that I need to wait on?
Thanks for the help,
Chris
Hello there, @Chris374.
I'm here to help share insights about changing the account assigned to an item in QuickBooks Online.
As of the moment, there isn't an option to select transactions affected by the change of an income account assigned to a service item. This means all of your historical transactions or none of them is changed if you checked or unchecked the option in question.
While the said option is not yet available, I recommend getting in touch and letting our product developers know about this by sending a request via feedback. Rest assured our developers are constantly taking in the voices of our customers, like you, to ensure you got the best experience while keeping your business growing with us. I'll show you how.
For now, I'm including our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online page to track the status of your request and get the latest updates from our developer team. Updates such as how the recent enhancement made to QBO helps our business owners, like you.
It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got other questions aside from working with your list and service items in QuickBooks. Use the Reply button and leave your comment below so that I, @JonpriL, can assist you further. Take care always and stay safe!
I've sent feedback but that's really a shame that QBO doesn't allow you to either choose a date for your historical transactions or even a check box for "all transactions" or "unclosed books only".
