QBO doesn't offer any assembly feature. Consider having a 3rd party app to do so and integrate it with your QBO.

Hello, bewitchinglybeau.

I use bath bombs regularly and I have to say, they're quite refreshing! With that said, I'm here to help you input your molds and other equipment in QuickBooks Online.

Depending on how you handle those wares, ingredients, and other items, we can add them as an inventory or non-inventory type. This assumes that you also sell those molds, pots and other wares for your business.

To starting entering those equipment:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Products and services.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Select either Inventory or Non-inventory (descriptions are available to help you decide).
  4. Enter details of the item such as the name, cost, sales price (if you sell it) and other information.
  5. Once done, click Save and close

If you simply purchase the wares and equipment to manufacture your soap and bath bombs, consider using an expense account. Then, use any expense form to create a purchase in QuickBooks Online.

To create an expense account:

  1. Go to your Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Set the Account Type and the Detail Type to an expense type (check with your accountant if you need help with the specific types).
  4. Once done, click Save and close.

When we're ready to purchase the equipment, click the + New button then select either Expense or Check (depending on how you bought it).

Also if you want to manufacture your soap and bath bombs, then there are a bunch of pointers we need to take note of.

As mentioned by Fiat, QuickBooks Online doesn't have the assembly feature. We can, though, use a couple of workarounds to manufacture the soap and bath bombs.

Our resident expert user, Rustler, has a detailed solution to manually manufacture those soap and bath bombs within QuickBooks Online. Check out their reply here: Permalink

Another workaround is to simply use a third-party app that adds the manufacturing or assembly feature in the Online version. Browse for one in our App Center page

And just to add something for the workarounds, we can also use Bundles. Generally, we would want to group the related equipment used to make the soap or bath bombs.

Check this video if you need help: How to Use Bundles: Grouping Products & Services.
