I cannot resolve a bank connection error message.

The error message "We can’t find this account at your bank
Let’s make sure the right accounts are connected to QuickBooks. This may take a few minutes. (324)
Reconnect your account" cannot be resolved.  I completed the reconnect process multiple times, but the error remains.

I appreciate you performing some troubleshooting steps to resolve the error you received, @drbowers.

I'll provide additional information to help you overcome bank error 324 so you can download and manage your transactions seamlessly.

Before anything else, may I know the bank you're connecting with QuickBooks? If this is American Express, you must download bank transactions from cards with their name as they tightened their security requirements. Otherwise, you'll receive error 324.

On the other hand, error 324 in QuickBooks Online means the software can't recognize your account upon connecting to your financial institution's website. The reasons for these are:

  • Your bank or credit card company has relocated your account to a new server.
  • You updated your account details on your bank or credit card company's website.
  • You change your bank information on the bank company's website.
  • It seems that you have been issued a new account or credit card by your bank or credit card company.
  • You have closed either your bank or credit card account.
  • It appears that you have multiple bank accounts under the same name.

To resolve the error and continue downloading transactions, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Head to Transactions and choose Bank transactions.
  3. In the upper right corner, click on Update.
  4. If the same error appears, find the banner on the banking page.
  5. From there, select Check Connections and proceed to the steps on fixing the issue.

I am using AMEX. It lost the connection. I was able to reconnect the main account number, but I have 3 cards linked to the account. Now all the transactions are coming through under one account in the Bank Transactions. How do I get it back to see the transactions separately like they have been the past 3 years?

I am having the same problem, did you ever get this problem resolved?  If so, what did you do?

Good day, HJPoliskey.

It's my pleasure to provide the help you need with your banking concerns. To do so, I need more information regarding the problem you experienced.

I'd like to know if you encountered the same error 324. Are there any changes with the bank account where your transactions come from? Do you have a parent account with subaccounts?

Please know any additional details would help us narrow down the issue. I'll be on the lookout for your response.
