I have a vendor that shows REQUESTED by the name, I cannot edit, the city and state is not there. How can this be fixed?

The only options I have is Make inactive & New transaction When I print checks to this vendor, I have to write in the city, state and zip.

The status will display as Requested next to the vendor’s name once the vendor has been added through the Contractor/1099 feature. After you send them an invite, they need to fill out their W-9 information and status will remain Requested until they complete the form, lhrt.

While it is in this status, you cannot edit their name, city, state, or zip code because QuickBooks is waiting for the contractor to provide that information themselves.

Here are the steps to enter or edit their information yourself (e.g., city, state, tax info):

1.  Cancel or withdraw the W-9 request by clicking the Requested status next to their name.
2.  Hit on the vendor’s name to open their profile.
3. Then, on the right side (where it shows the contractor’s W-9 request status), look for Cancel or Withdraw request (the wording may vary depending on your QBO version).

You can now manually edit the vendor profile. From the Address info section, input the city, state, or zip code, and tick track payments for 1099 to add them as a contractor at the same time, and also enable yourself to edit their information.

Once added, it will automatically appear in the mailing address on the check page and will also be included when printing checks.
