I have the Quickbooks Self Employed Tax Bundle. I'm pretty sure I wasn't charged to file on Turbotax last year, but it's charging me this year. Is there a code to enter?

The charge is for Turbotax Premium: $119 and State is $59

Hello there.

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern, and I'd be happy to assist you with your query regarding the QuickBooks Self Employed Tax Bundle and TurboTax filing fees.

As a subscriber to the QuickBooks Self Employed (QBSE) Tax Bundle, you're entitled to unique benefits, including the ability to file your taxes through TurboTax at no extra charge.

Ensure that your TurboTax charges align with what’s included in the QBSE Tax Bundle. The bundle covers TurboTax Self-Employed and one state filing. If you're being charged for TurboTax Premium, it's worth revisiting the specifics of your bundle and discussing with our support why the Premium version is being recommended for your tax situation.

For promotional codes, it would be best to contact QBSE Support, as they have the right tools to clarify your codes and billing.

Alternatively, you can also consider contacting our TurboTax support.

Let me add this article as a tax guide when filing your annual taxes: QuickBooks Self-Employed Annual Tax Guide.

If you need further assistance or want to add details of your concerns about the fees involved, we'll be here in the Community to assist. Stay safe.

This happened to me this year too and I just realized it's because it upgraded me (without me asking) to the Live Premium. I never used any of the live features, nor did I request it. But it's wanting me to pay $129. I have been using the Quickbooks Self-employed Turbo tax bundle for years with no issues until this year. Super frustrating. It will be extra annoying if I have to go in and clear my entire return and start over just to not be charged.

Hello, @Sandi81.

I understand where you're coming from and how essential it is to file taxes without being charged in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

First off, please note that QBSE doesn't upgrade automatically. You still need to follow some steps for you to upgrade this. Thus, I will route you to our customer support to check your account internally and conduct further investigation if needed.

Here's how to contact them:

  1. From the Help icon, click Contact Us.
  2. Enter "talk to a human" then hit Continue.
  3. Finally, choose a way you want to connect with us.
  • Have us call you- this is to get a call from our expert.
  • Chat with us- to start a conversation with a support expert.

Additionally, please take note of our support schedule. Our live support is available from Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday, 6 AM to 3 PM PT.

Moreover, I'm adding this article as your reference in changing your plan in QBSE: Downgrade from the Tax Bundle to QuickBooks Self-Employed only.

Return to this post if you have other concerns regarding filing your taxes or your QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription. I'll be here to lend a hand at any time.
