I'm getting "error saving item" in the mobile app when trying to add products. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

I'm here to help fix the error you're having with your QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app when trying to add products, Trevor.

 

If the QuickBooks Online mobile app is not fully functioning, it may be due to the application's data. To determine if this is the case, we can reset the data. This process is similar to clearing the cache on a web browser. 

 

Here's how:

Android:

  1. Go to Menu ☰ then tap More Options ⋮.
  2. Select Settings, then Refresh Data.
  3. Tap Yes.

 

iOS:

  1. Go to the Menu ☰ icon, then select Help & Feedback.
  2. Tap Refresh Data.
  3. Select Refresh.

 

You can also do it in your device settings:

 

Android:

  1. Go to the Settings menu.
  2. Select Apps (varies by device), then choose QuickBooks app from the list Storage.
  3. Select Clear data.

iOS:

  1. From your device's Settings, select Setting General iPhone Storage.
  2. Choose an app that's taking up a lot of space.
  3. Click the Offload App.
  4.  

 

Once done, we can restart your device and reopen your QBO mobile app to double-check. If the issue persists, I suggest you uninstall it and then reinstall the app:

  1. Tap and hold the app on your phone.
  2. Drag the app to the Uninstall section.
  3. Select Yes to confirm.

This did not work for my app. I'm not going to clear data because that will clear everything on my account. How do I fix this??

The stored cache may cause unusual behavior in the QuickBooks app, slowing down performance, Vanessa.

 

We can perform some troubleshooting steps to refresh data into its default state. This process plays the same role as clearing the cache from your web browser. Clearing the cache from your web browser will not delete your files in QuickBooks Online, although the app will ask you to log in again using your credentials.

Here's how:

  6. Click Let’s talk, then click on Start messaging.
