I make my payroll liability payments electronically through Quickbooks online. It shows the payment being made, but it is not logged in my check register? Help!

Since you've already electronically filed your payroll liability payments, there could be ongoing processing within QuickBooks, @toolrepairs. Once the payment is fully processed, an email notification will be sent to the Primary Admin registered in QuickBooks Online. If the payment was successfully made and reflected in your bank but isn’t appearing in your QuickBooks check register, it could be due to an error where a different bank account was selected during the payroll tax payment process.

To address this issue, let’s first verify that the payment has been recorded in your books:

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu, then click Standard reports tab.
  2. Search the Payroll Tax Payment report in the Type report name here field.
  3. In the Date field, enter the Liability Period for the payment you've made.
  4. Once done, click Apply to view and look for the accurate payment.

If the payment is not showing on this report, I recommend contacting our payroll support team for further investigation. They can securely review your account details and provide a screen share session to identify the root cause of the issue. Make sure to check their available hours to contact support.

For tracking purposes, you might also find it helpful to check the status of your payroll tax payments using the following article: Check the status of your payroll tax payments or filings sent through QuickBooks Payroll.

Additionally, if you encounter errors when filing your tax forms, this article can guide you on how to address e-file and e-pay rejections: Handle payroll e-file and e-pay rejections.

Lastly, to optimize your accounting routines and guarantee pristine financial documentation, I highly advise considering QuickBooks Payroll. This utility delivers customized assistance that targets vital strategic facets instrumental in advancing business growth and achieving success
