I need checks to be printed in a specific order to pair them with letters. Can you sort checks in the print check queue to print alphabetically?

We could have more than one person creating checks at a time and this throws off the order in the print check queue.

Thank you for contacting us about sorting the order when printing checks, smoore4.

Those checks on the queue are already sorted in alphabetical order. See the attached screenshot below for your visual guide.

To see this, you can navigate the Print checks feature and print checks from there. Let me show you how:

  1. Click + New, select Print checks.
  2. Load your checks into the printer.
  3. Select the checking account that you created the check from the drop-down ▼.
  4. In the Starting check no. field, enter the check number of the first check in the printer.
  5. Mark the checkbox next to each check you want to print.
  6. Click Preview and print.
  7. If everything is correct, click Print.
  8. If your checks print correctly, select Done.

You can do a test print on plain paper first to check the alignment so you don’t waste checks.

If your checks don’t print correctly, select the some checks need reprinting option or the option to keep checks in the Print checks list. You may need to open the print setup and adjust your alignment settings.

To avoid paper jams in your printer, you can get a reusable Intuit Forms Leader. This lets you attach your leftover checks to the form so you can run it through your printer as a full sheet.

You can print using your own checks, but they need to be formatted for QuickBooks. Or you can order QuickBooks compatible checks from Intuit.

Let me know if there's anything else you need while printing checks in QuickBooks. I'll be right here to help you.
