I used to be able to print remittance advice from the print form menu. Is it true this is not available in Quickbooks online that's considerably more expensive?!?!

No, it's not true. Printing the Remittance Advice is still available in QuickBooks Online United States. Ensure that you use a credit card or cash when paying the check or bill so you can print this in your account. 

Follow this process:

1. Go to the Expenses menu.
2. Find the appropriate Bill Payment.
3. Double-click the payment and hit Print. 

For future reference, read and learn about recording bill payment checks or paying a bill using a credit or debit card in QuickBooks Online.

for check payments?  It looks like it's trying to reprint the check. I only get a small portion of the invoices paid on a check stub.  Is it possible to print a remittance for a bill payment made by check?

I apologize for the confusion. However, at this time, there isn't a way to print a remittance advice itself. Give our Product Developers some feedback so they can consider adding this as a new feature in the future.
