Import time clock

It's nice to see you posting your concern in the QuickBooks Community, @JeanG. I’ll lend a hand in sorting out your query about importing time clock for employees into QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale (QB POS).

For this matter, you’ll want to consider looking for a third-party app in QBDT that allows you to import time information for your employees. We can go to the Apps Center and select which one from the list of applications matches your needs. Here’s how:

1. In your browser, enter this link: Apps for QuickBooks Desktop.
2. From there, enter a keyword in the Search field or use the Filters section to narrow down the process.
3. This action will display a list of apps.
4. Click on the View Profile button to see more details about the software.

Thank you for taking time to reply, but did you read the question fully? I wanted to know if you can import time clocks into POS. This has nothing to do with QBD. I know how to use QB POS time.

I can share additional information about importing Time Clock to the POS account. 

You can only make an entry for a clock in and out in POS. Here's how to manage time clock entries in QB Point of Sale:

1. From the Employees menu, select Clock In/Out.
2. Click the Enter user name drop-down and select the user name.
3. Enter your password (if required).
4. Click Clock In or Clock Out, as appropriate.

You can check the use and manage Time Clock in Point of Sale for more details. It provides information to track and manage time clock records and employees' hours worked.

So the answer is

No, you can not import timeclocks into POS.

Whilst it is not possible to import timesheet data into QuickBooks Point of Sale as a built in feature, it is possible if you use one of the third party import utilities to do that.  The app is called Zed Axis that you can find in the Apps for QuickBooks site and it is able to connect to QuickBooks Point of Sales and import transactions and list types including Timesheets directly into your QB POS company file.

There is a 30 day free trial if you would like to try it out.
