Buy nowIn the Time/Time Entries area I still have quite a few inactive services that appear when I am adding time. It is not all of the inactive services but several do appear and it is confusing for the employees since they are similar. Have tried to merge them but they still appear with the same name just with a 1 after its original name. Is there any way to fix this?
Hello there, @aaronandrews218. I know a way to fix or remove inactive services that appear on your list while adding time in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Inactive service items should no longer appear on your list in the Service drop-down menu when adding time activities and in any other place that displays (i.e., reports) them in QBO. Then, when you merge two services, one of them will be inactivated (deleted) from the products and services' active list.
Based on your description, I can tell that some of your merged service items are activated. That's why they appear with the same name with a number 1 after them. Please see and compare the screenshots below for your reference.
With this, you'll want to make sure your merged service items are inactive (deleted). This way, they won't appear on your list in the Service drop-down menu when adding time activities. To do this, here's how:
For more details about modifying your products and services in QBO, you can refer to this article: Remove or merge a product or service.
Also, you may want to checkout this article as your reference in case you want to group your products and services into categories to keep things organized in your QBO account: Group your products and services into different categories.
Let me know if there's anything else you need or concerns about managing service items and recording time entries in QBO. I'm always ready to help. Take care, and have a great day, @aaronandrews218.
Hello @Rea_M , and thank you for your reply. Unfortunately this solution does not work. The services that still appear in the time entries menu are inactive, do not appear with the active products and services but do appear with the inactive ones. I have tried to merge them when active to another service but it just recreates the service with a 1 after it. If I make that inactive it also still appears in the time entries menu. Do you have any other suggestion?
Same issue here.
This has to be a bug.
It would be better if we could just remove them.
QBO team, can you provide an update for a fix?
Thanks,
Devin
