Information gone

My QB desktop information is gone.  I logged into my account to receive payments, but no customers are there, no outstanding invoices, nothing.  A shell of a company.  I did a chat with QB and I was told my data was damaged.  Sent me two articles to fix, but neither worked.  I called and the person was not helpful at all.  I have since downloaded the QuickBooks Tool Hub and ran the diagnostics with no success.  I don't know what else to do.

Hello there, @sldaniels

I appreciate you performing all the steps from the articles you have to resolve this issue.

Since the recommended steps did not fix the issue, let me add some insights to help you check the outstanding invoices and other transactions in your QuickBooks Desktop.

Have you tried opening a sample company? If not, you can isolate the issue and check if the problem is only happening to a specific file and not the program itself.

You can follow these steps:

  1. Close the current company by clicking File Close Company/Logoff.
  2. From the No Company Open window, select Open a sample file drop-down.
  3. Choose any sample file on the list.

Then, make sure to set the preferences to Automatically recall the last transaction for this name and try to create a transaction. If it works, go back and open your company file.

I’m adding some links to help you in the future. These resources outline the complete steps on how to resolve the following issues:

Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any clarifications or other concerns. Have a great day!
