Hello, HalloweenGal. I can provide some solutions if you're facing issues while backing up your files using Intuit Data Protect.
Please ensure that your Windows firewall isn't blocking Intuit Data Protect. The software needs access to your firewall to function properly. Check your firewall settings and make sure that important files are allowed.
To add important files to the Windows firewall:
- Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type Firewall in the search field.
- Click on Allow an app through Windows Firewall and then select Allow another app.
- Browse and go to Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Intuit\Data Protect.
- Select QBIDPservice.exe, then Open.
- Hit on Network types and select the Private checkbox. Tap Add.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the files IBUenghost.exe and IntuitDataProtect.exe.
Check out this article to proceed to the next solution if the issue persists: Unable to back up with Intuit Data Protect.
You'll want to utilize the Verify and Rebuild tool. The verify tool is good at detecting the most common problems in a company file, and the rebuild tool will fix them.
