Memorial Day Sale 90% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months.* Limited time only
Buy now & saveAt the end of each month I run an Inventory Adjustment and Build Assembly report respectively to verify the monthly transactions. During the month when the transactions are being created on the lower left hand side there is a "memo" field. I would like this field to show on the report. I have selected every column indicated under the filters. The information populated in the "memo" is the item number with the words "Inventory Adjustment" at the end. This is NOT the information in the memo field.
Can you let me know what the name of the field is and how do I get the information I need on the report?

I made an effort to understand the conversation, Andie. The Memo field you mentioned has the exact name as you described. Allow me to provide you with a brief clarification about it.
In your initial photo where the inventory adjustments are made, we can treat it as an individual transaction. Let's analyze this page in detail to understand how it influences the reports.
The information found above and below the table columns represents the primary data, which will be reflected in Summary-type reports. Conversely, the details within the table columns cater to the information that will be showcased in Detail-type reports.
The Memo field from the Adjust Quantity/Value on Hand page (seen in photo 1) appears in Summary-type reports. For instance, consider using the Inventory Adjustment Transactions Summary Report as an example. You can access this report in the same manner as the Inventory Adjustment Transaction Detail Report.

The memo field is designed to enhance your reporting experience and emphasize the importance of structured data, @AndieAST7. Let me discuss the memo fields in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) further.
When you adjust your inventory items, the system automatically populates the memo field with specific details. This design is intentional and serves an important purpose.
The memo field from the Adjust Quantity/Value on Hand is pre-populated to indicate the type of the adjustment. This helps you and your team easily identify the reason behind each change when reviewing your inventory reports later.
As a workaround, you can export the report to Excel to analyze the data further and include any relevant information specific to your business needs.
For your build assemblies, you can create a custom report to generate these reports. This customization allows you to filter the data and display your build assemblies in QuickBooks.

I have added two screen shots to illustrate the issue I am bringing to your attention. The answer Intuit provided is already being executed. The Question I am asking: in photo 1, the lower left hand corner in the memo field states "CYCLE COUNT-6 cans missing". in Photo 2, this report comes from the following

Inventory Adjustment Transaction Detail Report
This report was created by Intuit
The Memo field states "CRAYTRUFPEEL7OZ Inventory Adjustment". this is the item number used in the transaction with Inventory Adjustment next to it. I want to see "CYCLE COUNT-6 cans missing".
What is the memo field I am referring to called? how can I see this field on the report?
