Invoicing of grouped activities and transaction list

Is Quickbooks able to generate a Transaction List by Customer report when there is grouped items in an Invoice?  For example, Bookkeeping Service transaction is entered for a customer on 8/10 for 4 hrs. Then on 8/11 and 8/12 the same customer is serviced again.  Except the Description of Service section of the transaction is different every service date:  reconciliation, accounts payable, monthly reports, etc.  When invoicing this time, I will group the services as one.  But the down side of grouping it, does not give the detail written in the Memo Section/Description Section.  So again, can quickbooks automatically generate Transaction List by Customer (or similar breakdown) report and attach it to the invoice?  Thanks in advance to everyone

Thanks for sharing your concern here in the Community, @Simple611. I'd be glad to share some insights about running Transaction List by Customer report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

First thing, the closest report that we can run is the Transaction List by Customer report. However, it currently isn't possible to automatically run this report that filters the service items with different invoice memos.

 

For now, I'd like to suggest manually filtering the report to invoices with the specific memo in generating a Transaction List by Customer.

 

Here's how to do it:

  1. In the left menu panel, go to Reports.
  2. In the Find Report by Name field, search for Transaction List by Customer.
  3. Click Filter, under Filter by tick the dropdown and choose Transaction Type.
  4. Under Value, select Invoice.
  5. Close tab.

 

Consequently, to attach the Transaction List by Customer report to the invoice, you can manually download the transaction and attach it to the invoice.

 

Here's how:

  1. In the Transaction List by Customer report.
  2. Tick the dropdown in Export/Print located in the upper right corner of the page.

  3. From there you can export the report and attach it to your invoice.

Note: In attaching a file in the invoice, the maximum file size is 20 MB.
