To clarify, is your client trying to create a regular backup or an accountant's copy? At this time, QuickBooks doesn't have an option to specify the amount of data backed up based on a date range. For more information about this, I recommend following these articles:
I can see how well this option would work with QuickBooks Desktop. If it's a feature that your client deems as necessary for their business, I highly encourage them to send feedback directly to our Product Development Team. Here's how they can do that:
- Click the Help menu.
- Select Send Feedback Online, then Product Suggestion.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Click Submit.
