late fees

is there a way to limit the amount of late fees charged per invoice.  i am only allowed to charge a late fee of up to 1/2 the original invoice amount.  I see where i can add $15 a day after the grace period but i don't see where i can limit the amount of fees per invoice.    will it just keep charging $15 a day until it is paid?

thank you

kelli

late fees

Hello, askkelli.

We can activate the late fees setting, set the fee's exact amount, and apply it to the invoice. After you enable the setting, QuickBooks calculates the late fees.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings, then choose Account and settings.
  2. Click Sales, then, in the Late fees, hit Edit.
  3. Turn on the Default charge applied to overdue invoices switch.
  4. Select the Percentage of remaining balance: Applies a percentage of the remaining amount of the invoice.
  5. Enter the Amount and/or Percent (%) of the fee.
  6. Tap the Frequency dropdown, then choose how often you charge customers.
  7. If you want to give them a grace period, pick how many days to give them from the dropdown.
  8. Modify the default name Late fee.
  9. Press Save and Done.
