Linking invoices and estimates

We just switched from QB Desktop to QB Online. All invoices and estimates imported into QBO but the progress invoices are no longer linked to the estimate. I have jobs that include more than 20 invoices linked to one estimate, so reentry is not an option. Is there a way to manually link the invoices to the original estimate?

Linking invoices and estimates

Hello there,

Estimates will be converted to QuickBooks Online. Active estimates are marked as Closed, Inactive ones are marked as Rejected and those that are used for progress invoicing won’t link to the invoices you created in Desktop.

In addition, Progress Invoices (invoices based on estimates) and their extra fields don’t convert. You'll want to manually convert the estimates to the invoices again. For more details on what to expect when switching from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, you can click here.

You can follow these steps on how to convert an estimate to an invoice in QuickBooks Online:

  1. Open the estimate.
  2. At the upper-right, click Create invoice.
  3. Once converted, click Save and close.

Please let me know how it goes. I'm always around to help whenever you needed me. All the best!
