I'm looking to compile a report of both open sales orders and open purchase orders. I typically just do two separate reports, but I was wondering if there is a way to make a report that pulls from both (and maybe even link a PO to an SO, if there is a link.) Does anyone know of any way to possibly do this without formatting in Excel for hours?

The ability to simultaneously run a report showing purchase and sales orders is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), beekmcha. I can provide you with the steps for sending feedback about combining the two reports into one.
I suggest submitting a feedback request to our product developers. This way, our Product Engineers can consider adding this feature in future updates.
Here's how:
As a workaround, you can run each report individually and export them to Excel. Then, you can combine the reports in the Excel file.
Once done, our designated team will review it. You can track your future requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.
Additionally, you can refer to the articles on how to customize reports and how to create, access, and modify memorized reports in QBDT.
I'm committed to supporting you every step of the way to ensure you have the best tools for your reporting needs. Let me know below if you need anything else, I'll be here to help you always.
