Buy now@Rachele11 As far as I'm aware, that should be as simple as changing the name of one to be the same as the other.
Not sure whether that'll make QBO eat itself with respect to inventory values, though.
FishingForAnswers has provided accurate information, Rachele11, and let me share additional details. In QuickBooks Online, you cannot merge inventory items. This rule helps keep your inventory and financial reports accurate, protecting crucial data like inventory values and quantities.
However, when it comes to service or non-inventory items, merging is possible and can be an efficient way to organize your item list. I'm here and eager to assist you with this process.
To merge duplicate service/non-inventory items, follow these steps:
After the merging, all its records will move to the remaining item, and this action is irreversible.

Furthermore, you may want to explore QuickBooks Live Bookkeeping to streamline your accounting processes, ensure accuracy in your financial records, and provide expert support, allowing you to focus more on growing your business.
That should do it! Your product list is now more refined. If you need further assistance, please reply to this message, and I’ll be here to help you further.
I can't get this to work. I've copied/pasted the name but it just changes the name so there are two; it won't pop-up for the merge like happens with Customers/Suppliers etc.
Am I missing something?
Thank you for following the provided steps so far, @FlowerChildBooks. Let's ensure everything is set up correctly and explore some ways to regain your ability to merge product and service items in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To begin, when renaming the duplicate item by clicking Edit, double-check that the updated name matches the one you want to keep exactly. This includes small, unintended differences, such as extra space, characters, or formatting quirks, that prevent the merge confirmation from appearing.
If the name matches perfectly but the confirmation pop-up still doesn't appear, please click the Refresh icon, press F5 (on Windows), or Command-R (on Mac) to reload the page.
Once refreshed, check if you can merge the item successfully. If the issue continues, sign out of your QBO account completely. Wait a few moments, then reconnect by logging back in.
Don't hesitate to drop a comment below if you have further questions. I'm always ready to assist you.
