merge inventory items in bulk

Hello,

We have a manufacturer changing their item id as they are implementing SAP.

We intend to upload the new item list (with the new number) and merge with the old item so we can have the historical data. Is there any way we can do this in bulk?

Also is there any way to delete items that never had transactions in bull?

Thank you,

When you upload an item that has a new name, that is a new item. There is no way in QB to merge unlike item names automatically.

Inventory is what you actually stock, but it sounds like you are uploading a catalog.

Thank you for your prompt response. No we do not intend to import a catalog.

Due to the fact that the vendor (manufacturer) is implementing a new software they are  changing the item id

Example: Item A123 will be 657987.

This are items we carry in our inventory.

What we intend to do is we need to have new item set up, item 657987 and merge it with A123. This way we have the history from prior. If we only bring over the new item and not merge, we will have two items on the list.
