Migrating to the cloud

Has anyone migrated from Quickbooks Professional Services Enterprise Edition Desktop to Quickbooks online? We are being advised against it by our IT professionals due to our file size and issues with QB online backups becoming corrupt. We are looking for real world experiences so we can  make an educated decision.

Your IT Professionals are very astute and appear to offer excellent advise.

Do you have any experiences you can share in this kind of migration?

Stay away from QBO!!  You WILL regret it, otherwise.  Search the community (Using the Search Bar at the top of any page) to see what others are saying and how bad they all regret switching to QBO.

It really depends on how much functionality you're okay with losing (you will lose some functionality when switching).  Below is a link to a spreadsheet put together by @hectorgarciacpa showing the differences in functionality between all versions of QB.  The two columns in the middle (red & blue) are for QB Advanced and Enterprise.  Enterprise is an excellent system and, as others have noted, I don't think I have ever heard anyone say they are happy they switched to QBO from Enterprise.

Why do you consider switching to QBO? You can setup a private cloud if you need remote users access your data. If you have decided using QBO, you can condense your data to lower your file size. Then you can use the trial version of QB Desktop to access your historical data for good.
