Milage calculator

With the milage write off do I still add in gas receipts or is the milage calculator accounting for gas already?

Milage calculator

We appreciate you for dropping your concern here in the Community, @Vog1. Let me share insights about recording gas receipts in milage inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When recording gas receipts in mileage write-offs, you can use the actual expense method in QBO. Use this method for calculating the expenses when using the car for business. The deduction is comparable. If the vehicle is used 60% for own use and 40% for business, the deduction will be 40% of the total expense. To understand more about the actual expense method, I suggest visiting this link: Learn about standard mileage and actual expense deduction methods.

On the other hand, reaching your accountant is suggested to assist you more with this. If you don't have an accountant, I can help you find one. Feel free to visit this page to find an accountant for your business: Find a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Moreover, I recommend scanning this link as your guide in handling issues when tracking mileage: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
