Hi there, @islandferries. I'm here to ensure you'll be able to create statements for your customers with non zero balance dues.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can specify the Customer Balance Status to Open so this will only send statements for customers with non zero balance. I'll show you how:
- In your QBO account, select the +New button.
- Next, choose Statements.
- From there, select Balance Forward under the Statement Type drop-down.
- Set the date range for the statement.
- Then, in the Customer Balance Status field, pick Open.
- To print the statements, simply select the Print and preview button. On the other hand, click Save and send to email it directly to your customers.

In case you want to see current statements made for a customer, you can simply go to the Sales menu.
