Multiple Automatic Fees to Invoices

Our client charges a $25 Late Fee and a $10 Admin Fee for past due invoices.  They have a total of 240 monthly invoices they send out and the fees have to be separated completely.  I don't see an option to split or add a secondary fee under the Late Fee set up to automatically post it.  Is there a way to have two separate fees added automatically or will we have to manually add this Admin Fee to each client that is past due?

Thank you!

Multiple Automatic Fees to Invoices

Thank you for posting here on the Community page, ForensicXtina.

I'd like to share some details and steps regarding the late fees.

At the moment, adding the service fee automatically is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. However, you can create an item for the late fee and manually add it as a product/service line on your past invoices.

I'll guide you on how:

  1. Go to the +New and Select Invoice.
  2. Enter your invoice details. Then, on the next line item.
  3. Tick +Add new. Then, click Service in the Product/Service information page.
  4. Type "Late Fee" or "Admin Fee" depends on how you name the item. Pick an Income account.
  5. Click Save and close.
  6. Add the calculated Amount as negative. Then, click the Add subtotal button.
  7. Click Save and close.

To learn more about the automatic late fees feature, you can read this article: Set up and apply automatic late fees to invoices.

As always, feel free to browse our page in case you need help with other tasks in QBO.

Keep me posted if you still have questions or concerns with invoices. I'm always here for you. Stay safe.
