Buy nowI need to edit the pay period on a paper check from last month. The edit function in paycheck list does not allow this. Where can I change it to correct records in Quickbooks?
Once the paper check has been created and processed, the option to edit the pay period is unavailable, Dr. Scearce.
Since pay periods impact tax calculations and compliance, QuickBooks doesn't allow edits for issued paychecks. When you attempt to edit it, a message will appear explaining why changes cannot be made.
With that, I suggest getting in touch with our Live Support team for assistance in changing your pay period dates.

@Jovelyn_M RE: Since pay periods impact tax calculations and compliance, QuickBooks doesn't allow edits for issued paychecks.
Sure it does. What I think you meant to write is that, "QuickBooks Online doesn't allow edits for pay periods for issued paychecks, and Intuit offers some flimsy excuse for the shortcoming, while QuickBooks Desktop does allow the edits - and has for 30 years - and it causes absolutely no problems at all."
I challenge you to point out one tax calculation that is impacted by the pay period. I've worked in payroll for 30 years and I can't think of one. Tax calculations are all based on the paycheck date.
