My company file is taking liber than 2 hours to repair

Hello,

I have quickbooks desktop for Mac (2019),

I was unable to open any of my company files, they are saved on an external hard drive. I updated my QB still would not open. I even got on here and saw one saying if I changed the name or moved location, did those and it didn’t help.
I was able to open the back up, I am now trying to repair on company file and it is taking liber than 2 hours and I have no idea what to do. This is how it’s been.

thank you.

You were able to restore the backup file but still unable to open your primary file?

This is not the impression we want you to experience when opening your company file in QuickBooks, LDV_NC_TX.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue. Before we start, it's recommended to always create a backup copy of your company file before doing any changes to ensure you have an original copy and restore it anytime. Once done, we can run verify and rebuild your QuickBooks data to help you identify company file data issues as well as resolves those issues found. Here's how:

  1. Go to File, then select Utilities.
  2. Click Verify Data, then OK to close all windows. If you see “Your data has failed the integrity check” you need to rebuild your file. If there are no problems with your data, you’re done.
  3. Once your data is verified, you can now rebuild your company files, refer to the next steps.
  4. Navigate to the File menu, then choose Utilities.
  5. Pick Rebuild Data, then select OK to close all windows.
  6. QuickBooks will ask to make a backup before rebuilding your company file, tap OK.
  7. Press OK.

Then try opening your company file again. If the issue persists, I'd suggest contacting our Technical Support Team. This way, they can investigate what's causing this issue. Let me guide you on how:

  1. Head to the Contact support page at this link.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Mac.
  3. Click on Search for something else and enter a brief description of your concern in the search box.
  4. Hit Search.
  5. Select Start a Message.
