My email for accountant invite is in a XHTML1/DTD format?

I cannot read the email for my accountant invite. It looks like computer programming code.

No way to accept the invitation.

Is anyone else having this issue and is there a way to translate it to a format I can read?

I've attached the first part of what my email looks like.

My email for accountant invite is in a XHTML1/DTD format?

Hi there, LindaH3.

I'm here to provide some information regarding your client's invitation to become their accountant.

You should be able to see the details of your client's invite with the option to Accept Invitation. If not, ask your client to cancel/delete the invite first, then let them send a new invite.

To delete the original invite:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Go to Gear ⚙ icon and select Manage users.
  3. Click the Accounting firms tab.
  4. Look for your accountant firm.
  5. In the Action column, select the small arrow ▼ icon and then Delete. If they see any duplicate invites, also delete those.

After that, let them check out this article to send a new invitation: Invite an accountant to review your books in QuickBooks Online.

I'm also adding this link to learn how you can manage clients in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

I'll be here to check if you still have other follow-up questions. Take care and enjoy your day!

My email for accountant invite is in a XHTML1/DTD format?

Hi Archie,

Thanks for trying but creating the invite isn't the problem.

I called support and found out that my client hadn't verified his email yet. We thought that would fix it, but it didn't. Every email I get from "my client (via Intuit services) <[email address removed]> look like programing code.  Not a normal email that has an accept invitation button. I think I attached what it comes over like with my original question.

I'm stumped

Linda

My email for accountant invite is in a XHTML1/DTD format?

Hi there, LindaH3.

Let me help ensure your accountant can accept the invitation and work on your QuickBooks file. There may be a web browser issue.

You can have the accountant open the email on a private browser and accept the invitation from there. Or have them use a different browser to isolate the issue.

You can instruct the accountant to do the steps below.

  1. Open the invite email.
  2. Right-click the Accept Invitation link and copy the web address.
  3. Open a new private web browser. In Google Chrome, this is called an Incognito Window. For other browsers, it's a Private Window or Private Browser.
  4. Right-click the address bar and paste the copied web address.
  5. This opens the sign-in page manually.
  6. Enter the user ID and password for your QuickBooks Online Accountant firm.

If the same issuer persists, you can delete the invitation and invite again the account. I'm adding this page for additional troubleshooting solution: What to do if you can't accept client invites in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Also, make sure to use up-to-date and supported browsers. Check this article to see what your computer needs: System requirements for QuickBooks Online.

If the accountant is still seeing the XHTML1/DTD format, you can contact again our QuickBooks Live Team. They can create a case and send it to our Product Team for further investigation.
