Hey, @Kim QED

Welcome to the Community!

To clarify, what error message are you receiving? Also, did you use the steps below to update the tax rate:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Payroll settings.
  2. Next to the state you want to update, press Edit ✎.
  3. In the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Setup section, tap Change or add new rate.
  4. Enter your new rate and its effective date.

In the meantime, you can review this guide for more details about updating a tax rate in QBO

I'll be just around corner when you're ready with that additional information!

My NH UI Tax Rate is 0% with an AC rate of 0.1% but I get an error message when I enter the UI rate

Quick books will not allow me to enter the current UI tax rate of 0%.   NH is now all 0% and QBs has set a low threshold of .1%  and will not allow me to enter the correct amount of "0"

Thank you for posting your concern here in the Community about being unable to enter the current UI tax rate, @amycor.

If you have followed the steps provided by my colleague and still can't add the current tax rate, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Payroll Support Team for further help. They can assist in editing the SUI rate on your behalf in a secure environment.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner.
  2. Go to the Assistant tab.
  3. Click Get help from a human.
  4. Choose Chat with us or Have us call you.

If you need prompt assistance, you can reach them directly through their contact number: Contact Payroll Support.

Before approaching them, please be aware that you might need to submit a copy of your payroll tax notice. With this, I recommend preparing it beforehand.

Moreover, you can check out this article to learn how to manage your payroll accounting settings: Change your accounting preferences in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

I have the same problem and calling did not help. They were unable to update the rate to 0%. They told me to "complain online" to get this fixed. Should be a simple programming issue.

Thank you for the quick reply. I tried to reply that day but wasn't able to - which became a secondary issue.

Payroll support was the key to resolving my issue. I couldn't fix it on the front end but they were able to do so on the back end.

Thanks for following up with the Community, Kim QED.

I'm happy to hear Ivan_G was able to help resolve your issue with entering a Payroll tax rate.

In regard to not being able to send a reply, sometimes the browser you're using can affect certain webpages and make them not function properly. If you encounter a scenario where you can't send a reply in the Community again, I'd initially recommend checking your browser. It's possible this could have something to do with temporary internet files.

You can open a private window and check to see if you're able to send a reply in the Community.

Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If you're able to send a reply while browsing privately, it's safe to say this problem's being caused by your browser. It can be fixed by clearing cached data and Intuit-specific cookies.

In the event you still can't send a reply while browsing in incognito mode, you'll initially want to try switching to another browsing application.

Here's a list of supported browsers

  • Google Chrome - version 78 or newer
  • Mozilla Firefox - version 76 or newer
  • Microsoft Edge - version 79 or newer
  • Opera - version 68 or newer
  • Samsung - version 10 or newer
  • Safari - version 12 or newer

You can also check a browser's compatibility with QuickBooks by utilizing our browser health checkup tool. QuickBooks supports the current and two previous versions of browsers. If you find that you're using an unsupported version, make sure to update it to its latest release. Steps for doing so can be found on the particular company's website.

I've also included a detailed resource about system requirements which may come in handy moving forward: System requirements

I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have an awesome Tuesday!

@ZackE  Every time I see one of you blame the browser for Intuit's various internet-related shortcomings, it feels like hearing a triangular wheel salesman blame the automobile manufacturers for the failure of their product, to take a page from @TeleToast .

The vast majority of websites manage to function just fine on every browser. Intuit, own your problems.
