No support for Internet Explorer, but QBO still REQUIRES it to download company files?

According to this post, updated Feb 21, 2020, Intuit has discontinued support for Internet Explorer 11, which is the most current version of Internet Explorer.

However, if you try to download a company file in QBO using anything but Internet Explorer, you still receive this message:
"You can use QuickBooks Online with any browser, but you can only export data from QuickBooks if you signed in from Internet Explorer. Please open Internet Explorer and sign in to QuickBooks Online before exporting your data. We apologize for the inconvenience."


I tried to use Internet Explorer anyway and it's un-usable (pages aren't displaying correctly, menus are missing, the gear icon brings up a blank white window, etc). So how are you supposed to download company files now? The option is still there in the QBO menus, but the instructions to do it from Internet Explorer can NOT be followed.
