Buy nowMy customers sometime issue POs (Purchase Orders) with due dates in the future. I build an invoice and as days go by I try to look up any orders that are do. This process is far from ideal, and I can miss order ship dates. Can Quickbooks Desktop pro notify me when it is time to ship an order to a customer? Something like an email or text a couple of days prior to the desired ship date would be ideal. That notice would include the invoice number and date required.
Possible?
Mistake. Do should be due. Sorry
We understand how important it is for you to stay on top of order shipment dates and ensure timely deliveries, @GeneM.
As of now this option is currently unavailable. I'd recommend sending feedback directly to Product Development team. Your feedback helps us identify areas where we can enhance our software to better meet the needs of our users.
Here's how:

Also, you can read this article to learn more information about tracking products. It contains complete instructions to organize items in the program.
Additionally, I encourage reading this article to help you track inventory stored at different sites or locations: Set up Advanced Inventory.
Let me know if you have follow-up questions about sending alerts in QuickBooks. I'll be around to answer them.
I still need this future order notification feature. I now have Enterprise Solutions, Manufacturing and Wholesale 24.0
Is this something you can add?
Also I would like to have required fields on my invoices so that they must be filled in prior to fulfilling.
Thanks for following up with the Community, GeneM.
I can certainly understand how an ability to receive notifications about future orders could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
You can also submit your own feedback while using QuickBooks. The steps for doing so are detailed in AbegailS_'s post.
As a workaround, there's a couple options. Initially, I'd recommend checking your QuickBooks Desktop Marketplace for apps which may be able to help you achieve exactly what you're looking to do.
Another option you can consider is using your To-Do list to get a reminder to pop up on the screen in QuickBooks.
Here's how:
If you use your To-Do list to create a reminder, I'd also recommend turning on the Reminders preference if you haven't yet:
I've also included a detailed resource about working with custom fields on sales forms which may come in handy moving forward: Create & use custom fields
Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
