Oklahoma Unemployment Insurance figured wrong

We did not receive notice of our unemployment insurance rate change prior to completing all payroll for 1Q2021. When I attempted to file quarterly reports, I realized there was a discrepancy in the amount due and went looking. I was able to locate the effective rate online through our account and have since made the change; however, the amount due in QB was incorrect as it had already been figuring for the quarter. I made the correct payment, but QB still shows the remainder due. How can I clear this as it is not actually due?

Previous rate was 1.5%, new rate is 0.3%.

Total calculated amount due for the quarter was $296.85 (1.5%) but the actual amount due was $59.37. I entered the payment made of $59.37 but QB is still showing $237.48 due for this quarter.

Oklahoma Unemployment Insurance figured wrong

Thank you for providing details about your concern, clinicphguymon.

It's good to know that you have checked and calculated manually the rate for your state unemployment insurance (SUI).

Making any payroll liability adjustment can be tricky. I suggest consulting an accountant before performing any changes. Also, make sure that you create a backup copy of your company file. This way, you can restore it easily if you accidentally made unnecessary changes.

You can check these articles for more information on making adjustments for SUI:

If the amount still shows incorrect after you made changes, you can also contact our support team for further assistance.

Let me know if you have follow-up questions or clarifications about SUI rates. I'm always here to help. Keep safe!
