Hello, Rozmore13. Let me share additional information about the supported file types in QuickBooks Online.

The following are the currently supported file formats when adding attachments.

  • PDF
  • JPEG
  • PNG
  • DOC
  • XLSX
  • CSV
  • TIFF
  • GIF
  • XML

If you're referring to importing bank activities, the following are the ones that are supported:

  • CSV file: A common file format used for text files that contain tabular data. In CSV files, each field of text is separated by a comma, semi-colon, or other special characters.
  • XLS/XLSX file: XLS is the file format of Microsoft Excel 1997-2003. Microsoft Excel 2007 and newer use the XLSX file format.
  • Google Sheets: A cloud-based spreadsheet created in Google Drive.

In your example, Asc and IFF are likely not on the list of acceptable file types.

Here are resources you can read for additional reference:

If you need any clarifications about file types or other issues, please let me know in the comment section below. I'll be here to assist.

Hello there, @Rozmore13.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we can import clients, customers, and vendors information.

First, create a file of your client's information. You can either format a CSV or an Excel file to import the details to QuickBooks. Then, use the Import function in the program.

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Import data.
  2. Choose Customers
  3. Click Browse, then look for the formatted CSV file.
  4. Proceed with Next, then map the fields and other settings.

There is a sample file available for you as a guide. On the upload screen, click the Download a sample file link. It is available on other options as well.

For receivables, I take it that you're trying to import their invoices. In this case, you'll want to select the Invoices box. Then, use a CSV format to bring them into QuickBooks.

For other customer transactions, I'd recommend using a third-party app to import them. You can browse our App Center to look for one.

You can find more details about importing your data here:

I would also recommend browsing our tutorials if you need help navigating the program: Video tutorials for QuickBooks Online.

Do you have more questions as you set up your QuickBooks Online account? Please let me know, and I'll share a detailed guide with you.

One of the questions on the QBO Certification exam, said there are four different ways to add additional information to QBO files.  It listed several file types.

Excel

Asc

CVS

Docs

IFF

Can you tell me which applies.  I know that Excel and CVS apply.

Thanks,
