Online Accountant invite loop

My boss is trying to add me to the company's QB account. He has sent me an email invite, and I can log in. However, when I do, I get a message saying, "Your firm already has an account. Ask your firm's QuickBooks admin to add you to the firm's account. Once you're on the account, ask your client to resend their invitation." 

 

He has done this twice. I have cleared the cache, copied the invite link and opened it in an incognito browser and a different internet browser window. How can this be resolved so I can access the account?

Thank you for outlining the steps you've taken to resolve the issue. I'm happy to suggest additional troubleshooting methods to help access your client's account in QuickBooks.


To start, ask your client to delete your access to their books and reinvite you again. Doing this will refresh the connection between your account and their company. Ask them to follow these steps to delete the original invitation:

 

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Manage users.
  3. Click the Accounting firms tab.
  4. Look for your accountant firm.
  5. In the Action column, select the small arrow ▼ icon and then Delete
  6. Click Delete to confirm. If they see any duplicate invites, also delete those.

 

Once done, ask them to send you a new invite. If you're still getting the same results, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Team. They can further investigate the issue and perform additional troubleshooting steps to fix it.
