Join nowI am trying to open a QBB file on a PC with Desktop Premiere 2019. The Mac is running 2020. The software rejects my password and all attempts to bypass it have failed (through "forgot password". The error message says "Incorrect password" I have recreated the QBB file on the mac. Always using the same password. Any wisdom on the topic would be appreciated.
Edit: I was able to use the Intuit Password Removal service to change the password on the file, but I'm still getting the same error.
Did you create a backup file on QBD 2020 Mac and try to restore it on QBD 2019 (Windows)? You need to have QBD 2020 minimum on your PC to restore it. You can still purchase the one time license for QBD 2020 Windows if required.
Thank you for posting in the Community, PhilXclaim.
Let me share some information about accessing qbb file from QuickBooks for Mac to QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.
I agree with @Fiat, you need to at least 2020 QuickBooks Desktop version for windows to be able to restore it. Also, keep in mind that passwords are case sensitive. Make sure there are no unnecessary spaces in between the password. You can use this link as your reference: Password security for QuickBooks Desktop.
I've also added this article to learn more about how user and password word in QuickBooks for Mac.
