Thanks for letting us know about your concern about filtering reports by class in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @DP108. Having this option provides additional details for specific parts of your transactions.
There are ways to verify why classes aren't showing on your end during the customization of your report. First off, let's check if these classes you're referring to are still active. Otherwise, these won't be visible when personalizing your reports. Here's how:
- Go to the Lists menu and select Class Lists.
- Put a checkmark on the Include inactive box to see all class lists and determine what's still active and inactive.
- If these classes are marked as inactive, tap them twice and uncheck the Class is inactive section.
- Then, hit the OK button to save changes.
Following that, return to the job profit and loss report and apply a class filter. If the option is still not available, it's possible that your data is corrupted. This can be resolved by verifying and rebuilding the data. Be sure to make a backup of your data before taking any further steps.
Verify Data:
- Press the File menu.
- Choose Utilities from the drop-down option.
- Select Verify Data.
- Tap Ok to continue.
Rebuild Data:
- Click the File tab at the top.
- Select Utilities from the drop-down option.
- Choose Rebuild Data.
- Click Ok on Rebuild has completed.
