Plans and Purchase Orders

Creating a purchase order is available in QuickBooks Online. You can use this feature through subscribing or use a service trial for QuickBooks Simple Start, Essential, Plus, or Advanced. Aside from creating PO's, there are other types of transactions that you can use to record information for your vendors or customers. I'd recommend viewing the available features on each plan. This helps you choose the plan that's right for your business.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can add transactions directly and categorize them.

Keep in mind, once you have decided to open a new blank QBSE/QBO account, make sure to click the Buy button to get the discounted price for up to 3 months. If you purchase from the Trial account, you have to pay the regular rate.

The Purchase order feature is ONLY available in the plus subscription at $90 a month!  This is crazy by the way and part of the reason were switching to Xero.
