I'm right there with you. We use the online version and there are constant (sometimes undismissable) ads, some of which are for services we already use. I close one, leave the homepage to do a task, return and BAM. It's back. My understanding is that it can't be stopped.
Price increases, constant disconnecting of our bank accounts despite the bank showing the connection to Intuit is current, ads, TERRIBLE customer service, and remarkably limited customization. I genuinely wish there were a functional competitor app by an established and reputable company.
