price levels not working

  • desktop premier 2024, windows, all software up to date
  • 1-2-2025, updated our prices, then updated price levels for special customers. this was done on client pc to a server pc in same office.
  • tested invoices for customers with price levels and it calculated the correct % but it draws from the 2024 (old) prices! On 12-31-24 these price levels were all working perfectly.
  • tested invoices on customers without price level assignments and it correctly drew the 2025 prices.
  • spent 45 minutes "verifying" data, no problems there. Intuit now recommends rebuild.

Any suggestions appreciated!

price levels not working

I appreciate you for taking the initiative to troubleshoot the issue, KitchenAid. I'd be glad to provide additional information on why the price level list in QuickBooks Desktop is not calculating the correct price you have set.

As you mentioned, you've verified your data and no problems were identified, so there's no need to continue with rebuilding your file. Since you've already performed other troubleshooting steps. Let's proceed by running the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix your file for any potential issues that may currently be affecting it.

To run QuickBooks Tool Hub on your system, please follow the steps below:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the latest version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and save the file to an easily accessible location.
  3. Run the downloaded file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe) and follow the on-screen instructions to install. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. After installation, open the QuickBooks Tool Hub by double-clicking its icon on your desktop.
  5. Inside the Tool Hub, go to Company File Issues.
  6. Click on Quick Fix my File. Then, hit Ok.
  7. Finally, reopen QuickBooks Desktop and load your data file.

Moreover, I added this article for more detailed steps on utilizing the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix your file: Fix company file and network issues with QuickBooks File Doctor.

Lastly, I included this article to learn how to change your price levels to price rules using the advanced pricing feature: Set up and use Advanced Pricing.

Please keep me update if you have any other questions about managing your price level. Please click on Reply, and we’re here to help.

@kitchenaid

Run the Condense Data utility to delete the oldest financial year data. Then run the resting again with the condensed file. Did you encounter the same issue?

downloaded 1.6.0.8 and ran

File QuickFix and FileDoctor > no problems

Program QuickFix and Program Diag Tool > no problem

thanks but i am not going to pay extra for advanced pricing. it was working fine a week ago.

The problem is when we make invoices, any customer with a % price level uses last years price. if the special price % is removed for that customer it lists the updated 2025 price just fine.

why would you think anything above suggests the file is too large? and why was I so dumb as to follow this advice? the condensed file looses tons of customer information that we still need. it didnt solve the problem and we restored the original company file.
