Price list Set Price Overrides filter

We've seen a major bug in the Enterprise Price Rule Price Overrides screen, where if you search for a part in order to enter a custom price, and subsequently enter the custom price and click OK, it removes all other previously entered Custom Prices and leaves the only custom price in the Price Rule list as the one searched and OK'd on. How do we search for an item and enter a NEW custom price without losing all of the previously entered Custom Prices in the List?

I am delighted to have you here, @tmartinkovic.

Usually, this error occurs when your data is damaged or corrupted. We can run the Verify/Rebuild tool utility to detect the data damage.

Here's how:

1. Go to the File menu, then hover over Utilities.

2. Select Rebuild Data.

3. On the QuickBooks Information window, select OK. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.

4. Let the tool repair your file. It may take some time. QuickBooks may seem stuck, but as long as you can move your mouse, the tool is working.

5. When the tool finishes, select OK.

6. Go to the File menu, and then hover over Utilities.

7. Select Verify Data.

8. Let the tool check your file for data issues.

If QuickBooks doesn't find any problems, select OK. However, if QuickBooks finds an issue with your company file, click Rebuild Now.

Also, make sure QuickBooks has its latest release. This is to ensure that everything is up to date.

I don't think it's a data corruption, I think it's a bug in the Search functionality of the Price Overrides area. I've created a new company with 2 new parts and 2 new customers. I added a price list with no "set the price to be" percentage, and simply added two price overrides in the Custom Price field. (one for each part) If you go back into the Edit Price Rule, click Price Overrides, both overrides appear with the correct data. If you do a search for a part to change the Custom Price Value for that part, by clicking OK, that then is the only part that has a custom price in the price list, So, imagine if you have thousands of parts with hundreds of overrides, and you want to change one part. How would you search for that part and change the price without removing all of the other Custom Prices for all of the other parts? A workaround is if you don't do a search and simply do a sort on part number, you can scroll down to the part you need to change, change it. click OK and ALL of the overrides stay in the list, including the newly changed one. How do you do a search and NOT remove all of the other price overrides?

Thank you for providing detailed info on your concern, @tmartinkovic.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can only change the custom price for your item without affecting the other parts by manually locating it in the Set Price Overrides window.

As an additional workaround, you can look for a third-party app that integrates with QBDT that can allow you to import price rules to update the custom price of a single part. To do so, please go to our QuickBooks Apps Store page.

You can also, send feedback to our product developers to request the addition of this feature to QBDT. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon.
  2. Click Send Feedback Online.
  3. Choose Product suggestion.
  4. Select a Product Area.
  5. In the box, enter a brief description of your product request. Example: Use the Find field when updating custom prices without removing all of the other price overrides once clicked OK.
  6. Once done, click Send Feedback

If there’s anything else I can do to assist you in editing price rules, please post a reply below. I’m always available to help if you ever need one.

We're still looking for a solution to the Price Rule List issue, more around Import/Export of this data. I've tried a few of the Apps store offerings, but either they aren't available on our Right Networks hosting platform, or they don't offer a solution to Price RULES, (not LEVELS!!!) Is there any solution to this? This functionality seems very strange, like the data isn't stored in Tables, but maybe a binary object or xml, or something similar?

Thanks for joining this thread, dfwimports.  I’m here to share info about Price Rules.

I can see the option to search for a part in order to enter a custom price is a crucial feature for any business. As of the moment, this feature still is unavailable in QuickBooks. The only way is to manually locate it in the Set Price Overrides window in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). This way,  can you adjust the custom price for your item.

However, we can utilize a third-party tool that lets you import price rules to change the custom price of a single part.

On the other hand, I suggest submitting a product suggestion directly to our software engineers. We're taking notes of your ideas and insights. Let me show you:

  1. Open your company file.
  2. Go to the Help menu.
  3. Choose Send Feedback Online.
  4. Select Product Suggestion.

  5. Enter your recommendation and other info and click Send Feedback.

what an AWFUL response from community and support.  It is OBVIOUSLY a bug in the product and is a SIGNIFICANT time waster if the user happens to do perform a Search and update after having created dozens of Price Overrides for the Customer- this bug will result in ALL his earlier price overrides being DELETED!!!
