Buy nowQB Desktop 2019 is not supposed to be updated for any reason, but we it still does.
Yesterday, QB ran fine as it should, this morning, when opening the file there was a quick Update window. File still opened, things are functioning.
Then we went to go print, it just went crazy. 1 page invoice, but the printing number keeps on going up we got to 1000 before stopping it. It didn't even print the invoice. Can't edit template.
Have already tried Doc, and all the diagnostic tools, still not working. How do we remove today's update to QB?
As I know, they haven't released any update patches since June 2022. Press CTRL+1 and check your Release version. Is it R17 or else?
Hi @Erss,
Intuit occasionally releases critical updates for security, compliance, or bug fixes, even after discontinuing a product.
To isolate, let's print an invoice using a sample company file. If it prints successfully, use the Verify and Rebuild Data functions to identify and fix common company file problems. Be sure to back up your company file before proceeding:
Verify Data:
Rebuild Data:
If issues persist when printing from both the sample and your company files, uninstalling and reinstalling QuickBooks can help. This process renames QuickBooks folders and can resolve company file issues.
Before uninstalling, have your license number ready; this can be found on the original package or in the purchase confirmation email.
If you need assistance with this process, I recommend consulting an IT professional.

I appreciate you getting back to this thread and providing that extra detail, Erss.
Seeing as you've already gone through the troubleshooting steps that my colleague recommended, and the error is isolated to a single customer.
Let's try to create a new customer profile. Then, we can create a new transaction to print it to see if the error is profile-specific.
If the issue is already fixed, we can go ahead and merge your customer's old profile with the new one.
Here's how:
From there, a confirmation prompt will appear, you can then click Yes to combine the two records.
However, if the issue persists, you may consider upgrading your QuickBooks Desktop version, as this is caused by compatibility issues.
Feel free to reply to this post if you need further assistance.
Consider reinstalling your QB program. If the same error persists, there's likely a Windows update conflicting with QB 2019. You may want to install the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 to isolate the issue.
Thank you for that option.
Tried it, it didn't work. Then try to see if prior invoices and new invoices will print. They all will. It's just that one invoice apparently. Guess we will just delete it and redo.
Found the issue maybe?
It could be a SO to Invoice issue. This function of coursed worked before.
Whatever the new update QB made to Desktop 2019 on October 1st 2025, it messed with the program. Where any Invoice coming from a SO you can no longer print or save to PDF. That forces a lot of people to have to abandon their paid software and have to upgrade to a monthly subscription. Great business tactic if true.
As far as we can tell, you can still print invoices otherwise in both customers... just can't do it through a SO now....... you can make the transaction, but just can't PDF or Print.
