How can I add customer invoices to a Project without changing the name of the customer invoices? Is there a field on an invoice that can connect them so I can get a true sense of the profit or loss of this project?
Hi,
You may want to use Tags and maybe set the Tag up with similar name to project. That way you can track income/costs in instances where you don’t want the customer name to be changed to the Project name, if I’m understanding your question correctly.

Thank you very much! I will try that and see I that works.
It did not work. I am new with QBO and not too sure how tags work but I did create one with the Project name and unsure how to connect them.
Good morning, @Joellyn31572.
Thanks for coming back and letting us and the other user know that it didn't work for you. Even though this is the case, I'll definitely explain and give you more details about the Tags feature in your QuickBooks Online account.
This features allows you to create customizable labels that let you track transactions however you'd like. You can tag invoices, bills, and expenses. Group tags together and run reports to see how specific areas of your business are doing. Also, they don't impact your books.
For more information and instructions on how to properly use Tags, I recommend reviewing the guides below:
Feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns. I'm only a post away. Have a wonderful Monday!
Thank you so much!! I think this is what I needed to get started.
