For months I've been bouncing back and forth to Yahoo about this. Now I finally ran across something here that applies to my problem:
In your published thread about emailing with third-party you've added a note regarding Yahoo email:
"Note: If you’re batch sending emails, the password will expire after sending 12 invoices or transactions."
Is this a Yahoo limit or Quickbooks and why does this happen? It did not use to happen. My bookkeeper's limit is only 7 invoices before the password expires. It really diminishes the value of batch emailing.
Does Google mail have this same problem?
Hello there, Jwhorton,
Yahoo sets the limitation when batch sending emails. This is to make sure the account is safe and emails will be delivered accurately.
As for Google Mail, you'll want to check with them directly if they have limitations.
Here are some articles you can check for reference:
Let me know If you have other questions.
I have NEVER gotten anyone at Yahoo to even admit that they have a limitation like this on batch submissions. Plus the "excuse" seems pretty lame and not really an excuse but an effort to cut down on their overhead to do this kind of service.
You've seemed to have discovered it, somehow. And you should push that knowledge out, the first link you suggested is the one where I found an indication of this limit. The second one indicates that this Quickbooks capability is great and wonderful and gives no clue that any given provider will severely limit that capability with these batch limitations.
I have serious doubts that I could find anyone at gmail who would know this, either. I would bother to ask but would put money down that they would deny any limitation and just speak from ignorance of one.
I'm faced with setting up and trying an alternative provider with no assurances that a batch limit exists.
Forgot to add:
Plus, before the first of this year, this limit did not exist. I used to be able to send 100+ invoices without any problems.
