So, my Laptop died and I just installed QB Pro 2020 on my desktop PC. After a clean brand new install, I tried to open my company file and got an Unrecoverable Error. After this, the program could not even start. I went through all the standard troubleshooting procedures. Here is what I have tried.
1. Update the program.
2. Repair the program (Uninstall Feature)
3. Uninstall and Reinstall using a newly downloaded Setup file from Intuit.
4. Use Quickbooks Tool Hub, running ALL the tools MANY times!
5. Trying to create a New Company (got an Unrecoverable Error).
6. Trying to open Intuits SAMPLE COMPANY (Got an Unrecoverable Error).
Note to Tech Support: Please READ the above steps carefully and make sure you understand that these steps DID NOT work to resolve the issue. Please do not repeat the instructions for these steps that have already been tried.
I appreciate you for sharing the steps you've done, Victor B.
I understand how it feels having to run the standard troubleshooting steps yet still experiencing the same issue.
To isolate why your company file crashes when opening it, I recommend reaching out to our Technical Support team. One of our agents has the means to check your file and can create an investigation about the issue. You can contact them during business hours every Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM PST.

Install the trial version for QBD 2023 to isolate the problems.
You obviously did not read numbers 5 and 6, as I asked you to. 5 and 6 clearly state that I tried creating a brand new company file, as well as opening the Quickbooks Sample file provided by Intuit, and got the same error as when I tried to open my company file. If you would have read 5 and 6, you would have understood the problem is not with my company file. Of course, I will reach out to Tech Support because really have no other option. It has never once been helpful in the past to do so, but hey, miracles do happen, but I won't hold my breath.
